The Governor of Borno State, Babagana Zulum, commends Senator Mohammed Monguno, representing Borno North, for the launch and distribution of the 110 mini-pick-up truck empowerment package to his constituency on Sunday.
The event took place at the State Government House in Maiduguri, the state capital of Borno State.
According to the post shared on the Borno State Government’s Facebook page on Monday, the governor commended Monguno for his unwavering efforts and support by empowering and creating a source of livelihood for the people of Borno State North Senatorial District since he became a member of the House of Representatives.
“I want to commend you, Senator MT Monguno, for the people-oriented projects for people in your constituency. Since you were a member of the House of Representatives, MT Monguno, you’ve impacted positively on the lives of your people.
“Let me use this opportunity to call upon other lawmakers to emulate MT Monguno’s good gestures, as they will serve as palliatives directly or indirectly to his constituents,” Zulum commended.
In his statement, Monguno assured his commitment to showing maximum support in tackling the economic challenges faced by his district as peace has significantly returned.
He further hailed the state governor and the security forces for their tireless efforts in combating and restoring peace, which have led to the resettlement of most IDPs from his senatorial district to their ancestral homes with dignity.
Monguno noted that since May 2023, over N400 million has been distributed to 9,108 constituent beneficiaries from the skill acquisition programmes and other empowerment schemes.

The members of the government expressed their gratitude and applauded the senator for his empowerment in reducing suffering among citizens of the country.
“Earlier in their separate goodwill messages, Deputy National Chairman (North) of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Hon. Ali Bukar Dalori, Chairman of APC Borno State, Hon. Bello Ayuba, and the Speaker of Borno State House of Assembly, Abdulkarim Lawan, applauded Senator MT Monguno‘s efforts in alleviating the suffering of his constituents,” the statement read.
