Gov Fubara Promises to Support Bereaved Families, Minimize Loss

Following the tragic tanker explosion that occurred on Friday night at Eleme axis, East-West Road of Rivers State, Governor Siminalayi Fubara promised to support affected families, and advised drivers to apply caution to avert casualties.

The notice described that the tragic event that occurred between Indorama Gate and Aleto Bridge at Eleme Local Government was the result of a tanker loaded with premium motor spirit (PMS), known as petrol.

Governor Fubara, who was accompanied by the State Commissioner of Police, Olatunji Disu, and the State Commissioner for Energy and Natural Resources, Mr Uchechukwu Nwafor, made this announcement as they paid visit to the scene of the inferno on Saturday, and he was saddened at the extent of the explosion.

And from what we are seeing this morning, it was not a pleasant case. We recorded a huge number of vehicles being destroyed and lives lost.”

Furthermore, Chukwudi stated that the governor’s visit was promoted by the phone call he received from the Managing Director of Indorama Petrochemical and Fertiliser Company Limited in Eleme Local Government Area.
