A popular market, Eko idumota also known as Dosunmu, which is located on Lagos Island, Lagos State, has been engulfed in fire.
This information came after an X user shared a video on Tuesday, April 9, stating that the inferno was a result of a generator explosion.
Furthermore, the user claimed that the unfortunate incident has affected five complex buildings and that the extent of the spray has increased despite the presence of firefighters.
“Just in, guys, the Eko Idumota (dosunmu) market is on fire due to a generator explosion. The fire keeps going up, and people are running for safety,” the user lamented.
Also added in the post is that it “keeps increasing; five complexes have been affected; firefighters are here, but still they have not been able to put it off.“

This was coming barely 24 hours after a three-storey building in the Apongbon area of Lagos State was razed down due to the manhandling of a generator set. As of the time of writing this report, the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service are yet to comment on the outbreak.
