President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday commended Dangote Oil and Gas Limited for its initiative to reduce the gantry price of Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), commonly known as diesel.

Tinubu in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale said the Dangote Group has taken commendable step of revising the gantry price of AGO from N1,650 to N1,000 per litre for a minimum purchase of one million litres.

He added that the company is also offering a discount of N30 per litre for purchases exceeding five million litres.

Speaking regards the impact of the price drop, the president stated that: ‘The price review represents a 60 percent drop, which will, in no small measure, impact the prices of sundry goods and services.’

Furthermore, Tinubu emphasised the role of Nigerians and domestic businesses in steering the country towards economic prosperity.

However, he, highlighted the federal government’s 20 per cent stake in Dangote Refinery, underscoring the importance of public-private partnerships in advancing national well-being.

More so, the President urged Nigerians and businesses to prioritize national interests, assuring them of a conducive, safe and secure environment to thrive.
