Chukwuemeka Woke has been appointed as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Ogun-Osun River Basin Development Authority (O-ORBDA) by President Bola Tinubu.
Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President in Media and Publicity, announced this development via his Facebook page on Thursday.
According to the notice, the Commander-in-Chief anticipates the new appointee to execute his duties diligently as he looks forward to better development in the water resource area and community.
“The President expects the new Chief Executive Officer of the Ogun-Osun River Basin Development Authority to discharge his duties with integrity and in conformity with the highest standards of transparency while working at harnessing and developing the water resource potential of the area, as well as ensuring that the Authority is a channel for holistic and integrated industrial, agricultural, and community development,” the statement read.
Meanwhile, Woke, with his years of experience as an engineer and politician, has served as Chairman of the Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State and one time worked as the Chief of Staff in Government House, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

What is Ogun-Osun River Basin Development Authority?
Ogun-Osun River Basin Development Authority (O-ORBDA) was established by the Federal Government of Nigeria by Decrees number 25 of 1976 and 31 of 1977, the O-ORBDA is a parastatal of the Federal Ministry of Water Resources and one of the 12 River Basin Development Authorities (RBDAs).
The initial operating responsibilities of the authorities have been modified since 1976. Deed No. 35 of 1987 and Privatisation and Commercialization Decree No. 25 of 1988 still govern O-ORBDA’s operations as of right now.
