Owodunni Ibrahim, known as Primeboy, a childhood friend of the late singer Mohbad, has taken legal action against the deceased’s widow, Wunmi, alleging false accusations and threats to his life.
The petition, filed before the police, has stirred public interest, shedding light on the paternity of Mohbad’s son, Liam, and the mysterious circumstances surrounding the singer’s untimely death at the age of 27.
Mohbad, a former signee under Marlian Records owned by Afeez Fashola, aka Naira Marley, left behind a legacy tainted with questions. Following his demise, both Marley and Lagos socialite Balogun Eletu, known as Sam Larry, faced interrogation by the Lagos State Police Command regarding their knowledge of Mohbad’s death.
Primeboy himself became embroiled in the saga when he was declared wanted by the state police command on October 4, 2023. He surrendered two days later and was subjected to questioning alongside his associate Ayobami Fisayo, also known as Spending, at the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, on March 12.
Benjamin Hundeyin, the state Police Public Relations Officer, elucidated on the bail conditions granted to Primeboy during the Mohbad case, indicating his obligation to visit the State CID every Tuesday for monitoring purposes.
In light of these events, Primeboy’s recent petition marks a significant development. Addressed to the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone 2 Command, Onikan, Lagos, the petition accuses Wunmi of orchestrating false accusations and utilizing SCID operatives to coerce Primeboy into making fabricated confessions about inflicting harm on Mohbad.
In a statement shared on Primeboy’s Instagram account, he directly challenges Wunmi to disclose the truth surrounding her late husband’s demise.
His post reads, “I told you to stop mentioning my name…… You didn’t stop……. Now It is time to tell the whole world the truth you said you know about what killed your boyfriend (Mohbad)….. Or you face the music!!!!!!!.”

The petition, filed by Alexime Law Associates on behalf of Primeboy, not only accuses Wunmi but also implicates Inspector Muhammed of SCID Panti for official misconduct and attempted perversion of justice, as delineated in the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
One excerpt from the petition reads, “Petition against Omowunmii Adebanji (Aloba) for threat to life, false accusation and using men of the State Criminal Investigation Department SCID to intimidate and coerce Mr. Owodunsi Ibrahim (our client) into making false confession of causing grievous bodily harm on Ilerioluwa Aloba (deceased) aka Mohbad.”
Another segment highlights the allegations against Inspector Muhammed of SCID Panti, stating, “Petition against Inspector Muhammed of State CID Panti for official high handedness, abuse of police powers and attempt to pervert justice contrary to Section 92 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.”
