As the Muslim community in Plateau State begins the observance of Ramadan, the state’s governor, Caleb Mutfwang, has made a heartfelt appeal to all Muslims to dedicate their prayers during this holy month to the attainment of peace in the region and the promotion of good governance.

In a statement released earlier today, Governor Mutfwang conveyed his warmest Ramadan greetings to the Muslim faithful, emphasizing the significance of this period for spiritual growth, self-reflection, and communal harmony. “Ramadan represents a unique time for inner reflection, spiritual growth, and strengthening of our moral compass. It is a period when the virtues of empathy, generosity, and brotherhood are more vital than ever,” said Mutfwang.

Highlighting the dual focus of his message, the governor urged the Muslim community to pray for the state’s political leaders. He emphasized the crucial role that effective leadership plays in ensuring governance that meets the needs of the people and fosters a peaceful coexistence among Plateau’s diverse communities.

“As you fast and offer prayers, I kindly urge you to remember our leaders in your supplications, that they may be guided towards governing with wisdom, justice, and a deep sense of responsibility,” he stated.

Governor Mutfwang also took the opportunity to reassure residents of the ongoing efforts by his administration to address security concerns and economic challenges facing the state. He expressed optimism about Plateau reclaiming its status as a symbol of peace and a prime destination for tourism in the near future.
