Nigerian rapper Tochukwu Ojogwu, professionally known as Odumodublvck, has advocated for respect towards religious leaders, particularly in the case of Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God.

The controversy began when Pastor Adeboye made a statement  asserting that Nigeria’s problems are deeply rooted in spirituality. This was an assertion that ignited a storm of criticism across various social media platforms, with different individuals expressing divergent views on the matter, most of which were laced in insults.

Amidst the chaos, Odumodublvck has spoken up and offered a perspective often overlooked in such heated debates, emphasizing the disparity in how followers of different faiths treat their religious leaders.

Drawing attention to the reverence Muslims exhibit towards their clerics, the Blood on the Dancefloor crooner called for a similar respect to be accorded to Pastor Adeboye, particularly considering his age and stature within the Christian community.

In a post on his X handle, Odumodublvck highlighted the absence of vitriol directed at Muslim clerics compared to the barrage of insults faced by Pastor Adeboye.

He added that Adeboye deserves to be respected by Christian youths even by the virtue of his age.

He wrote: “Pastor Adeboye never insulted no one on this app.

“You do not see Muslims come out to insult their clerics. Then later we complain that our religion is being stepped on.”

Speaking on the age factor of the General Overseer, the rapper said, “Even based on age wise, una no fit follow una papa talk the way una dey follow Adeboye talk. And he senior una papa and mama.

“That’s why I never rated you n*ggas on this app. Una double standards choke.”
