In a dramatic turn of events, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has issued a stern statement demanding the resignation of governors affiliated with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The statement, released yesterday by Felix Morka, Esq., the National Publicity Secretary of the APC, condemned what was described as “wilful blindness” on the part of PDP governors towards their constitutional duties. The governors had previously advised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to step down if he felt unable to govern Nigeria effectively.

This tit-for-tat exchange of political rhetoric has further strained relations between the ruling party and the opposition. The APC accused PDP governors of shirking their responsibilities and resorting to inflammatory language, likening Nigeria’s situation to that of Venezuela.

The APC criticized PDP governors for their failure to effectively utilize federal allocations towards improving the living conditions of their constituents. Highlighting specific examples, such as Delta state, where over 483.57 Billion Naira in federal allocation was allegedly mismanaged, the statement called for accountability at the state level.

The demand for PDP governors to resign has ignited a fierce debate within political circles, with supporters and detractors clashing over the interpretation of constitutional duties and political accountability. As tensions escalate, the nation braces for further political upheaval amidst calls for unity and stability.

In response to the APC’s statement, PDP officials have labeled the demand for governors’ resignation as a political ploy to undermine the opposition. PDP spokespersons accused the APC of deflecting attention from the government’s failures and called for a focus on addressing the pressing issues facing Nigerians.

Meanwhile, citizens across the country have expressed frustration with the ongoing political bickering, calling for a more constructive approach to governance. Many Nigerians emphasized the need for leaders to prioritize the welfare of the people above partisan interests.

As the political landscape continues to evolve, the fate of PDP governors hangs in the balance, with calls for resignation adding fuel to an already volatile situation. In the midst of uncertainty, Nigerians await further developments, hoping for a resolution that prioritizes the nation’s stability and progress.
