Nollywood Icon Dispels Rumor, Urges Responsible Reporting

Nollywood veteran, Ngozi Ezeonu, vehemently refuted false reports of her demise, addressing the rumors in a video posted on her Instagram. The actress clarified that a recent candle-lit post was a tribute to a departed friend, not an announcement of her own death.

In the video, Ezeonu expressed frustration at the misinformation, urging responsible journalism.

She emphasized the need for accurate verification before sharing news and calls for a more considerate approach in the media.

I lost a close friend; I posted a candle, and they put my picture on it, saying I died. It’s wrong. In journalism, when in doubt, you leave out. Don’t post without confirmation,” she stressed, adding that the false news has been distressing.

As she reassures her fans and followers, Ezeonu urges a cautious and compassionate approach to reporting, especially in the new year.
