Minister Bagudu Commends President Tinubu’s Economic Reform Strategy

Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Abubakar Bagudu has praised President Bola Tinubu’s proactive approach to economic reform, highlighting a clear strategy aimed at revitalizing Nigeria’s economy.

During a meeting with members of the House of Representatives Committee on National Planning and Economic Development in Abuja, Minister Bagudu emphasised the government’s determination to navigate through prevailing economic challenges while staying focused on the reform agenda.

Bagudu outlined the key components of the strategy, emphasizing the goal of achieving inclusive economic growth, reforming macroeconomic policies to boost revenue generation, and establishing a rule-based foreign exchange market to attract investment.

Despite acknowledging the current volatility, the minister expressed confidence in the government’s ability to overcome challenges, with a focus on supporting vulnerable populations and those affected by ongoing reforms.

He revealed President Tinubu’s commitment to reinstating a plan-based budget system, aiming to align budgeting with national planning for more strategic decision-making and implementation.
