Foreign Investment: Minister Bagudu Welcomes EU Delegation

Sen. Abubakar Bagudu CON, Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, welcomes EU delegates, thus fostering cooperation and understanding.

Today, Sen. Bagudu, welcomed a delegation from the Working Group of the European Union Council on Africa (COAFR) in his office in Abuja.

Ms. Yamina Guerfi led the delegation. The delegation aims to learn more about Nigeria and boost cooperation with various groups.

Ambassador Richard Young, Head of the West Africa Division, European External Action Service (EEAS), talked about important topics like investing, researching, and innovating.

Similarly, they discussed how Nigeria and Europe can work together on peace, security, development, migration, and humanitarian issues.

Minister Bagudu expressed his happiness about the good relationship between the EU and Nigeria.

The minister mentioned Nigeria’s commitment to things like following the law, democracy, and working together on climate and development.

However, he thanked the EU for their support and said there are lots of opportunities for them to work together.

Minister Bagudu however highlighted Nigeria’s infrastructure gap, signaling vast prospects for European private sector investment in areas such as irrigation, transport, green energy, and consumer credit.
