Following the gas explosion that occurred in the Tejuosho area behind Tejuosho Market and NTA, the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service (LSFRS) announced that there were no casualties recorded.
The gas explosion that occurred today was said to have razed down wooden shanties and spread to an extension to Oba Teju Osho’s house. Shops and residential homes located within the vicinity were also affected.
On receiving a distress call put across to LSFRS at 12:08 p.m., Director of Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service Margaret Adeseye, acknowledged that fire units from Ilupeju and Sari Fire Stations were on the ground to bring the fire under control.

To prevent further escalation, a “damping down operation” was carried out by the members of the rescued team, and around 16:16 p.m., the fire was halted.
Although preliminary investigations alleged that the incident could have originated from carelessness,.
Moreso, the rescue team was supported by co-rescued teams such as the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) Response Team, the Lisht Response Unit (LRU), the Federal Fire Service, the Lagos Neighbourhood Safety Corps (LNSC), and the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).
