In aftermath of the gas explosion in Ita-Oshin, Abeokuta North Local Government Area, Ogun State, President Bola Tinubu sent his deepest condolences to the victims.
Recall that on April 27 that a gas explosion occured along the Abeokuta-Sango-Lagos Motorway that resulted in one fatality and six admittef into hospitals.
Ajuri Ngelale, a spokeswoman for Tinubu, said in a statement on April 30 that property damage was caused by the explosion.
Though the governor of Ogun State and its citizens have also received President Tinubu’s condolences for this tragedy.

Mr Tinubu applauded Governor Dapo Abiodun for stabilising the situation and bringing the community’s environment back to normal.
The Ogun State populace, and especially the harmed parties of the regrettable event, have the backing of the former Lagos State governor, who reiterated this.
Ogun State Governor’s Action
In response to the recent incident, Governor Dapo Abiodun has taken decisive action by ordering the evacuation of affected buildings to facilitate structural integrity tests.
He communicated this decision through an official statement on his X page.
“During our assessment on-site, we reassured affected individuals that they would be adequately compensated for property damage and medical expenses.
“Furthermore, we’ve raised concerns about the safety of trucks transporting Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) nationwide, stressing the importance of regulatory oversight and adherence to industry standards.
“We’ve directed relevant agencies to ensure the roadworthiness of vehicles transporting petroleum products into the state and have convened a meeting with the Petroleum Tanker Drivers Association to address safety concerns.
“In Ogun State, we are committed to implementing legislation and regulatory frameworks to prevent similar incidents in the future and ensure the safety of our citizens.”
