Responding to numerous complaints from residents regarding ongoing criminal activities, the Lagos State Rapid Response Squad (RRS) has announced the arrest of 40 suspected criminals in various locations within Yaba.
In a post shared on their official handle, the security operatives, in collaboration with the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Agency, disclosed that the arrests were made around 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
According to the disclosure, the action was prompted by complaints from residents who had been attacked and robbed while in transit.
Following several complaints received by Olayinka Egbeyemi, the Commander of Rapid Response Squad (RRS), and with the approval of a letter from Commissioner of Police, Adegoke Fayoade, the vicinity was placed under surveillance.

Out of the 49 suspects arrested, 9 were released after interrogation at the RRS Headquarters, Alausa, in the presence of Egbeyemi.
Meanwhile, it was noted that the remaining 31 suspects would be charged to court as per the commander’s directive, in line with the Commissioner of Police’s orders.
The exact date when the suspected criminals would be charged has not been stated as at the time GOLDENPAGE MAGAZINE was preparing this report.
