Harry Kane shut his critics up with a brace against Lazio to help Bayern Munich into the quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League.
The England captain, Harry Kane, scored a game-winning brace as Bayern Munich pummeled Lazio 3-0 in the second leg of their UEFA Champions League round of 16 tie.
The Bavarians overturned a 1-0 first leg disadvantage, thanks to Kane’s Brace and another goal from Thomas Muller as they earned a 3-1 aggregate win over the Serie A giants.
Bayern Munich were able to showcase why they are one of the biggest teams in Europe by orchestrating a dominant performance at the Allianz Arena to overcome a 1-0 deficit from the first leg against Lazio and secure a place in the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals

The German champions were on the front foot from the start, as Leroy Sane and Jamal Musiala saw their early attempts saved and blocked.
Despite Lazio’s counter-attacking threat, Bayern continued to press, with Musiala and Kane coming close, but resolute defending kept the Italian side in the game.
The deadlock on the night was finally broken as England captain Harry Kane leveled the tie on aggregate by instinctively heading home. Raphael Guerreiro’s miscued shot, marking his 50th European goal and equaling Didier Drogba’s tally in the competition; he would later in the night surpass it.
Moments before half-time, German veteran the self proclaimed “raumdeuter” (space interpreter/investigator), Thomas Muller, capitalized on Matthijs de Ligt’s fierce volley, giving Bayern the lead in the tie.
The second half witnessed Bayern’s control, and Lazio struggled to mount a comeback. Kane was again instrumental as he extended the lead just after the hour mark, capitalizing on Leroy Sane’s rebounded effort.
Despite several opportunities, including a post-hit by Muller and a Musiala miss, Bayern secured a 3-0 victory, booking their spot in the Champions League quarterfinals and eliminating Lazio from the competition.
The loss ended Lazio’s chance of a first Champions League quarter-final appearance since 1999-2000.
Bayern Munich have not had the best season so far as they are currently 10 points behind league. Leaders Bayer Leverkusen with three straight losses, including the 1-0 defeat in the first leg in Rome, amounted to Bayern’s worst run since 2015. This led to Tuchel losing his job less than a year after arriving in Munich.
With Tuchel allowed to keep the seat warm until the summer, the coach promised to be more “ruthless” and this match proves it.
