Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has announced the new inaugural committee, which consists of 20 members, in Abia State Government House, Umuahia, on Thursday.
Otti made the announcement on his X handle that the inaugurated committee, which comprises 20 advisers to the Abia Global Economic Advisory Council, will take over from the former administration.
The governor noted that the Abia Global Economic Advisory Council (AGEAC) is the integral house that carries out strategic initiatives for the economic revitalization of the state.
He said that despite the neglect, their goal is to rebuild and reposition Abia State as a leader in innovation and economic growth, both regionally and globally.

The governor emphasised that AGEAC will offer insights and recommendations on fostering innovation, attracting investments, forming robust partnerships, and enhancing our state’s economic resilience amidst global economic shifts.

He further expressed his gratitude to all members of the AGEAC for accepting the vital task as well as appreciated General Ike Nwachukwu and Dr Kalu Idika Kalu for their invaluable contributions for actualizing the committee vision.
“I look forward to collaborating with each member in realising our vision of a thriving and forward-looking Abia State,” said Alex Otti.

Other members include Mr Victor Onyenkpa, Mrs Ifueko Omoigui Okauru, MFR, Mr Chidi Ajaegbu, Mr. Uche Orji, Mrs. Ndidi Nwuneli, MFR, Mr. Chika Nwobi, Dr. Olugbenga Adesida, Prof. Ndubuisi Ekekwe, Mazi Clement Owunna, MFR, Dr. Uzodinma Iweala, Mrs. Ezinwa Okoroafor, Mr. George Agu, Mazi Uzo Nwankwo, Mr. Chinedu Azodoh, and Prof. Peter Tufano.
According to the announcements, the AGEAC Secretariat will be managed by Mr Chinenye Mba-Uzoukwu and Mr Charles Egonye, with support from Mrs Victoria Onwubiko and Ms Amaka Okonkwo.
Also, AGEAC comprises five members from the State Executive Council, namely: the Governor Alex Otti, Mr. Ikechukwu Uwanna, Attorney General and Honourable Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Kingsley Anosike, Honourable Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Mr. Michael Akpara, Honourable Commissioner for Finance; and Mr. Chimezie Isaac Ukaegbu, Honourable Commissioner for Trade, Commerce, and Industry.
