Reassuring his commitment to boost the state economy, Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, said his administration has created a conducive, investment-friendly environment for investors.

The governor affirmed this during the opening remarks in the 2-day ceremony of the Rivers State Economic and Investment Summit (RSEIS) which is titled: Rivers Emerge: Advancing Pathways to Economic Growth.

The event was held at the Dr. Obi Wali International Conference Centre in Port Harcourt on Wednesday.

While speaking at the occasion, he said his government will reactivate various production factories that have been shut down, thus re-industrialising the state.

Recounting his administration achievements in all sectors, he highlighted that the Executive Council gave approval to partner with a construction group to build New Port City on 1000 hectares of land with the collaboration of the Greater Port Harcourt City Development Authority.

“Last week, the State Executive Council approved the proposal by Rainbow Heritage Group to build the New Port City in the state on about 1,000 hectares of land in collaboration with the Greater Port Harcourt City Development Authority,” he said.

With the aim of rebuilding the state economy, Mr Fubara believes Rivers State will emerge as a premiere investment destination for all categories of investors when all necessary measures have been put in place.

The ex-Governor of Cross River State, Donald Duke, who graced the ceremony as the chairman of the occasion, said the summit was a good development that would strengthen and boost the economy of the state.

In that light, he advised that citizens across the state should be enrolled in training for the betterment of the country.
