After an appeal, Everton has seen their earlier ten points reduced to six points in the ongoing Premier League.
Everton’s penalty for breaching Premier League financial rules has been reduced from 10 points to six following an appeal by the English top flight club.
The club revealed this through a public statement released today.
The club were hit with the punishment in November after an independent commission found they had exceeded permitted losses under the league’s profitability and sustainability rules over an assessment period ending with the 2021/22 season.
But in a turn of events, an independent appeal board cut that by four points, which moves the club up to 15th place.

Also, the Premier League said in a statement, “Everton FC appealed the sanction imposed against it on nine grounds, each of which related to the sanction rather than the fact of the breach, which the club admitted.
“Two of those nine grounds were upheld by the appeal board, which has substituted the original points deduction of 10 for six.”
The club faced a second PSR complaint over breaching rules during a period running to the end of last season.
What this means for Everton?
Well Sean Dyche and his men will see this as a big boost to their remaining in the English top flight as Everton remains one of the few clubs to have never faced relegation in the league history.
Everton during the weekend had managed to get a draw and now with this news the team finds themselves sitting comfortably at 15th on the table.
Everton face 10th place West Ham on Saturday 2nd of March.
