Nigerian music sensation, Davido, has resolved the N2.3bn breach of contract lawsuit filed against him by the Amaju Pinnick-led Brownhill Investment Company Limited.
The settlement, reached outside of court, signifies a mutual agreement between the two parties to put an end to the legal dispute.
The lawsuit stemmed from Davido’s alleged failure to fulfill his performance agreement at the 19th edition of the ‘Warri Again‘ concert in October 2023, despite receiving $94,600 in advance payment.
Brownhill Investments sought N2.3bn in damages, citing breach of contract and additional expenses incurred.
However, The Cable reported that Davido and Pinnick’s company have reached an amicable resolution, approved by the High Court in Delta. As part of the settlement terms, Davido has agreed to pay N30 million within seven days to partially cover the claimant’s legal fees.

Moreover, Davido has committed to perform live at the upcoming ‘Warri Again‘ concert on October 4, 2024, thereby fulfilling his contractual obligations. The $94,500 previously paid by the claimant will be considered payment for Davido’s performance at the event.
In addition to financial terms, the parties have agreed to settle miscommunication issues and withdraw any appeals related to the case. Furthermore, the claimant will provide a private jet, accommodation, and logistical support for Davido’s performance at the concert.
The terms of settlement, binding on both parties, prove a resolution to the dispute (the lawsuit) and, hence, pave the way for a collaborative effort to ensure a successful event.
