Customs Partners with FRCN to Inform Nigerians of its Mandates

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has announced its intention to collaborate closely with the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) to improve public awareness about its core mandates and contributions to economic development.

The Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adeniyi MFR, disclosed the Service’s partnership with FRCN during a meeting held on Tuesday at its Headquarters in Abuja.

The Director-General, Muhammad Bulama led the delegation from the FRCN.

Expressing the significance of media partnerships in amplifying the activities of the Customs Service, CGC Adeniyi said: “Over the years, I have seen that partnership with the media is very effective. So you need the media to amplify whatever we do, and we have found very good support. We have found a very strong partnership from the media, particularly from Radio Nigeria.”

Furthermore, CGC Adeniyi outlined the Service’s commitment to enhancing trade efficiency in Nigeria through various initiatives.

He highlighted the need to reshape the narrative surrounding trade activities in the country and acknowledged the importance of leveraging strategic partnerships to achieve this goal.

In response, the Director-General of the FRCN commended CGC Adeniyi for his leadership and the progress made under his tenure.

Highlighting the importance of the Customs Service in the nation’s development, DG Bulama expressed confidence in CGC Adeniyi’s ability to steer the organization towards greater success.

DG Bulama said:” We are convinced that the wisdom of Mr. President, appointing you to this position is already bearing fruits and is amply justified.

“Thus, we have no doubt in our minds that you shall succeed in repositioning this very important organisation, a very critical organisation in the life of our country.”

Furthermore, DG Bulama reiterated the FRCN’s commitment to supporting and publicizing the activities of the Nigeria Customs Service, emphasizing the need for collaborative efforts in achieving national goals.

He clarified that his team actively pursued a partnership with the Nigeria Customs Service, emphasizing that they firmly believed it was no longer sufficient to remain in their offices assuming that Nigerians were aware of their activities.

He stated: “We are not taking our mandate lightly. We thought that we should come so that together, we can collaborate to help our country realize its potential and greatness. It is our duty to support, publicize, and advocate for the activities of the Nigeria Customs Service.”
