After last night’s match, Trabzonspor fans ran on to the field to attack Fenerbahce players as they celebrate another win in the Turkish Super Lig.

As Fenerbahce won with 3-2 at Papara Park, their players and Trabzon were immediately met with violence as the former celebrated victory.

At the end of the game, Fenerbahce’s players gathered in the centre circle to celebrate, only for home supporters to invade the pitch and confront them.

As more and more fans flocked onto the pitch, there were violent scenes with security staff struggling to restore order.

Bright Osayi-Samuel and Michy Batshuayi both tried to intervene as security services entered the field.

Many Fenerbahce ran for cover down the tunnel.

But Batshuayi could be seen walking more slowly towards the tunnel and after spotting a fan running in his direction, the Belgian appeared to perform a spinning high kick, making contact with the individual’s head.

Turkey’s Interior Minister, Ali Yerlikaya, in response to the attack, posted on X Fka Twitter: “Above all, sport is gentlemanship.

It is never acceptable for violence to take place on football pitches.”
