After an intense gun exchange with the IPOB/ESN, the Nigerian troops have neutralized and regained the territory of the hideout of the alleged terrorist group in the Ihiteukwa Community in the Orsu Local Government Area of Imo State.
According to the post shared on the Nigeria Army X handle, the Director of Army Public Relations, Onyema Nwachukwu, stated that the security men recovered three improvised explosive devices (IED), one Toyota Highlander SUV, one Hilux vehicle, eight rounds of 7.62mm (Special) ammunition, six rounds of 7.62mm (NATO) ammunition, and one locally fabricated single barrel gun after a search on Saturday.
Other items recovered includes: a pair of proscribed Biafran uniform, one solar panel, one CCTV camera, ten mobile phones, batteries, a bundle of proscribed Biafran Currency, three solar street lights, three jungle hats, pairs of black boots and assorted charms.
Furthermore, in a separate operation at Akawa Nneato, a general area of Umunneochi Local Government Area of Abia State, the Nigerian troops encountered another alleged IPOB/ESN after engaging in a gun battle “resulting in the terrorists scampering in disarray into nearby bushes.”
The Nigeria troops recovered one AK-47 Rifle loaded with 19 rounds of 7.62mm (Special) ammunition, 2 empty magazines and one FN Rifle loaded with 4 rounds of 7.62mm (NATO) ammunition.

However, in another operation at the Kawara general area of Birnin Gwari Forest in Kaduna State, the security operatives also cleared and destroyed a series of terrorists’ camps in the area.
In the course of the operation, military personnel retrieved three motorcycles, a PKT Gun link stocked with 246 rounds of 7.62mm by 39mm ammunition, a set of woodland camouflage clothing, a pair of Desert boots, three magazine carriers, and a Baofeng Radio.
