Buhari, Sanwo-Olu, Abiodun, Others Celebrate Tinubu at 72

Despite Tinubu’s call for a low-key celebration, former President Muhammadu Buhari, Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun CON, and Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu have gone ahead to celebrate President Bola Tinubu as he turns 72 today.

In his tribute, Governor Dapo Abiodun praised Tinubu as a stalwart democrat and a forward-thinking leader deeply devoted to moving Nigeria towards becoming an economic powerhouse.

Governor Abiodun expressed confidence in Tinubu’s ability to lead the country through its current economic challenges and other pressing issues.

He added that the President has shown skill, strength, and a deep understanding of what the people want since he started his term.

His message read: “I would like to extend my warmest congratulations and best wishes to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the occasion of his 72nd birthday.

“This milestone is not only a celebration of a remarkable life well-lived but also an opportunity to acknowledge the president’s exceptional contributions to the growth and development of our great nation, Nigeria.

“President Tinubu has undeniably proven himself as a formidable politician, a visionary leader, and a champion of democracy.

“His unwavering commitment to the principles of democracy and good governance has left an indelible mark on our nation’s political landscape.”

Joining Abiodun in extending birthday wishes were other dignitaries, including former President Muhammadu Buhari, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Siminalayi Fubara from Rivers State, and others.

Buhari, through his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, commended Tinubu’s administration for its efforts to tackle Nigeria’s challenges.

The immediate ex-President prayed for the president’s continued health and dedication to the country’s progress.

Sanwo-Olu, in a statement by his media aide Gboyega Akosile, hailed Tinubu as a courageous and passionate leader whose financial expertise had elevated Lagos State to become Nigeria’s pride as the fifth largest economy in Africa.

Similarly, Fubara praised Tinubu as a selfless leader and advocate for peace and unity, noting his role in fostering democratic growth in Nigeria.

Other wishes included those of House of Representatives Speaker Abbas Tajudeen and Deputy Senate President Senator Jibrin Barau who also extended their congratulations.

They praised Tinubu’s contributions to progressive politics and visionary leadership.

President Tinubu on Sunday had called for a low-key celebration for his birthday considering the mood in the country.
