The Special Adviser of Information and Strategy to President Bola Tinubu, Bayo Onanuga, criticized the former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, for his involvement in the alleged deportation of Osun State youth by the Lagos State Government.

Onanuga slammed Obi through his social media page on Tuesday following his reaction.

Meanwhile, he labeled Obi’s reaction as hypocritical, citing reports from 2011 that indicated Obi initiated the deportations spree.

He also mentioned that Obi criticized former Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola, for similar actions in 2013, even reporting him to the then-President Goodluck Jonathan.

Onanuga’s statement were as follows:

Peter Obi has displayed his incurable hypocrisy again over the decision of Lagos State to send some Osun citizens back home.

Obi actually began ‘deportation’ of citizens in 2011, which Governor Fashola copied in August 2013 by deporting some destitute from Anambra back home. Obi not only criticised Fashola, he doubled down by writing a protest letter to then President Goodluck Jonathan.”
