Recently, Professor Uchegbu’s grandiloquent repute has just earned her a very notable seat in the hall of fame of the international academic scene, and never has the loudness of this laudable feat failed to seep through corridors of power, attracting respect and due recognition all over the world.

Popular for her innovative work in nanoparticle drug delivery as a Professor of Pharmaceutical Nanoscience at University College London (UCL), Ijeoma, who is considered as a worthy academic researcher, is recently elected the President of Wolfson College – one of the thirty-one (31) colleges of the University of Cambridge.
Both born and raised in Hackney and South East Nigeria, young Ijeoma Uchegbu studied Pharmacy at the University of Benin before she graduated in 1981 and later went ahead to bag Master’s degree at the University of Lagos.
In 1995, our exceptional Star moved back the United Kingdom where she successfully completed her postgraduate studies at the University of London. Her exemplary result made her a uniqueness deserving of an excellent PhD in 1997.
This however marks the beginning of her great academic journey on a whole new scale, rank, and pedestal.
Following her position as the President of Wolfson College in Cambridge, Professor Ijeoma’s outstanding accomplishments, which are results of her relentless efforts to advance the frontiers of pharmaceutical science, and also her impeccable, praiseworthy ambassadorial qualities still retain a magnitude of commendable worth across the world, especially in Nigeria.
The professor should be described and extolled as an epitome of ingenuity, brilliance, and industry which are both the cultural traits and identity marks of Nigerians abroad.
