The Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, has cautioned Corps members against making social media posts that could tarnish the image of the Scheme or Nigeria.
Speaking to the 2025 Batch βCβ Corps members at the NYSC Delta State Orientation Camp in Issele-Uku, the DG emphasized that any online content that puts the Scheme in a negative light would attract strict sanctions.
According to a statement published on the NYSC official X handle, Brigadier General Nafiu encouraged Corps members to use their digital influence to promote positive narratives about the NYSC and the nation.
He further advised them to avoid unauthorized journeys, comply fully with camp rules, and respect the traditions of their host communities.
βFollow simple instructions, be obedient, go for your biometrics and your Community Development Service. Learn and respect the cultural values of your host communities and do not misrepresent us at your place of primary assignment,β he said.

Earlier, the NYSC Delta State Coordinator, Mr. John Kwaghe, presented a situation report showing that 2,101 Corps members β 944 males and 1,157 females β had been deployed to the state. He noted that camp activities were running smoothly, with high participation and commendable discipline among Corps members.
This warning follows a similar message recently delivered by the NYSC DG to Corps members in Rivers State, where he urged them to uphold the Schemeβs core values β patriotism, integrity, efficiency, transparency, and commitment β throughout their service year and beyond.
