La Liga giant, Barcelona, is expected to play most of next season (2024-25 season) without one of the club’s stars, Gavi.
The Barcelona midfielder is expected to miss the start of the 2024-25 season after suffering an ACL injury.
Gavi has been out since November after picking up the injury while playing for Spain.
Despite hopes that he would recover in time for the new season, reports indicated that he would not be available until the end of 2024.
The typical recovery time for an ACL injury is usually seven to nine months, but the additional meniscus tear means he will need another two to three months to recover.
Even after his knee heals, Gavi will need a further month to get back in shape for football.
The best-case scenario for the 19-year-old will be to resume playing in December, but a more likely outcome is that he will return to action in January 2025.
However, with the renewal of Pau Cubarsí’s contract and the confirmation that Xavi will remain, as the Head coach fans of the club may still have something to look forward to next season, it was confirmed earlier this month that rivals of the Blaugrana (Barcelona), Los Blancos (Real Madrid) had secured the Laliga title.
This was however mostly inevitable as the side capital of Spain had spent majority of the season on top of the table.
Sadly for Barcelona, the victory was confirmed after they shockingly lost (for the second time this season) to now be expecting European deputant, Girona.

Andreas Christensen opened the scoring inside five minutes for the Blaugrana, with a fine volleyed effort from outside the box giving the visitors a 1-0 lead.
Girona responded from the ensuing kick off as La Liga top scorer Artem Dovbyk nodding home to complete a sweeping attack.
Both sides had their chances before the break.
Girona goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga denied first Christensen, then Ilkay Gundogan.
The Blaugrana backline, too, was subjected to wave-after-wave of Girona counter-attacks.
Robert Lewandowski then gave the Blaugrana the lead on the stroke of half-time, though, converting from the penalty spot.
But Girona fought their way back into it, as Cristian Portu got the first, finishing at the near post after Sergi Roberto backpass gifted the home side a clear run on goal.
And Miguel Gutierrez gave the hosts the lead, his deflected strike trickling in past a wrong-footed Marc-Andre ter Stegen.
Portu then smashed home the fourth to cap off a miserable afternoon for Xavi in Catalonia.
