Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has endorsed the installation of Mr Joseph Danfulani Narai, Mr Luka Ayedo Nizassan, and Alhaji Aliyu Yakubu Ndatsu as the new Sakaruyi of Karu, Esu of Kwali and Etsu of Yaba communities of FCT.

The Sakaruyi of Karu is a second-class Chief in the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), the Esu of Kwali is a second-class Chief in the Kwali Area Council and the Etsu of Yaba is a third-class Chief in the Abaji Area Council of FCT

Sakaruyi of Karu’s appointment took effect on April 22, 2024, whereas Etsu of Yaba and Kwali’s appointments took effect on May 2, 2024.

Presenting the appointment letters to the new traditional rulers, Mr Bitrus Lawrence Garki, the mandate secretary of the FCT Area Council Services Secretariat, said that they had come to power after the passing of their respective chiefdoms’ previous leaders.

The secretary welcomed the new royal fathers as she gave the appointment letters to the new chiefs on behalf of the FCT Minister.

It is a wonderful day that we will never forget, especially for the people of Kwali and Yaba Chiefdoms.

The FCT Administration is carrying out this action in support of Mr. President’s “Renewed Hope Agenda.”

Delivering the benefits of democracy to the people is the main goal here, according to Garki.

The mandate secretary went on to state that the trio was chosen following a successful examination, vote, and selection process in addition to the kingmakers performing customary ceremonies by their people’s customs and traditions.

He gave the recently appointed Chiefs his word that the FCT Administration would collaborate with them to raise the living conditions of their constituents.

Garki consequently urged the traditional leaders to support the policies and programmes of the government to foster growth and development at the grassroots. Yaba, Kwali, and Karu are a few of the 17 Chiefdoms in the Federal Capital Territory.
