Nigerian record producer and singer, John Saviours Udomboso, widely known as Young Jonn, has recently made headlines as he undergoes a successful hair transplant surgery.

The acclaimed ‘Xtra Cool’ crooner took to social media to share snippets of his surgical journey, posting both a video and photos from the operating room in Spain via his X handle on Wednesday.

In a tweet accompanying the post, he expressed his delight, stating, “Happy new hair @insparya_es.”

It is speculated that Young Jonn opted for the surgery in an effort to reclaim his receding hairline. With this bold move, the musician joins a growing list of celebrities who have chosen to undergo similar procedures to address hair loss concerns.

This development is traced back to the case of popular comedian Igosave, who underwent a hair transplant surgery two years ago to avert impending baldness.

Notably, Igosave openly discussed the financial ‘investment’ involved, highlighting the approximate cost of $20,000 for the procedure.

Young John’s move to have a transplant has sparked conversations across social media platforms and entertainment circles.

While some hailed the producer/singer for taking such step to address his receding hairline, others have criticized him entirely, stating that the transplant was entirely a product of his low self-esteem.

Critics have since gone back to his interview with media personality, Ebuka, two years ago.

In the interview, the producer opened up about social anxiety in his early years, until his mother, a psychologist, helped him to regain himself.

“I always used to be really shy. Being young, I thought it was a normal thing but my mother is a psychologist. She would often talk to me about how to relate with people.

“Along the line,…it started getting worst. At some point, I could not attend gatherings and would rather pass through the back door.

“There were so many people and I found it hard. It made me deprive myself of a lot of things. I did not want to be in certain places and didn’t have the courage to do certain things. I had to force myself to snap out of it,” he said.

He also noted that if not for his mother it would have been difficult to achieve his dreams:

“My mother helped me a lot to overcome anxiety. I called her and she would give me psychology questionnaires. I had big dreams and, if I kept going that way, it would be hard achieving them.”
