In the wake of Eid-el-Fitr celebrations, state governors, including the senate president, have sent their Eid greetings to the Muslim Ummah across the country.
Ogun State Governor Prince Abiodun, Senate President Godwin Akpabio, Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, and Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, in separate messages shared with journalists on Tuesday, felicitated Nigerians as Muslims celebrate the Eid.
They also emphasized the importance of unity, love, and peaceful coexistence among citizens irrespective of religious differences.
Governor Abiodun underscored the significance of peaceful coexistence in enhancing governance within Ogun State, urging Muslim faithful to integrate the lessons learned during Ramadan into their daily lives.
“Let us take a moment to reflect on the lessons learnt throughout the holy month of Ramadan and allow the spirit of Eid to guide our actions towards compassion, kindness, and understanding. Together, may we continue to build a thriving community where everyone feels valued and included,” remarked Governor Abiodun.
Senator Akpabio, while breaking fast with his Muslim colleagues in Abuja, emphasized that despite differing religious affiliations, Nigerians worship one Supreme God, fostering unity amidst diversity.
Reacting to Akpabio’s statement, Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin commended the Senate President for promoting unity through the convergence of Muslim and Christian celebrations.
Similarly, Governor Oborevwori of Delta State, celebrating alongside Muslim brethren in Asaba, urged adherents to uphold the teachings of their respective prophets, striving to embody virtues that enhance personal growth and societal harmony.

Furthermore, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, in his Eid greetings, advocated for religious tolerance and emphasized Lagos State’s commitment to fostering an environment where diverse religious practices are respected.
Governor Sanwo-Olu expressed optimism that the economic challenges facing Lagos State would soon be alleviated, citing various intervention programs initiated by both state and federal governments.
