In order to confront global issues and achieve sustainable development and prosperity for all, President Bola Tinubu has called for global collaboration and inclusivity.
Specifically in the areas of food security, economic growth, and energy development, Mr Tinubu called for international cooperation and inclusivity to confront shared concerns and create long-lasting solutions.
President Tinubu underlined the value of cooperation and inclusivity, particularly for Africa, in creating a future of hope, peace, and progress for all during a high-level panel discussion at the World Economic Forum Special Meeting on Global Collaboration, Growth, and Energy for Development in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Through his spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu emphasised that capital mobilisation is necessary to propel economic growth and advancements in Africa and that the vast resources of the continent must be reflected in its economic reality.
“The capital formation necessary to drive the economy, ensure food security, and promote innovation and technological advancement must be inclusive and involve the entire world. No one should be left behind,” President Tinubu said.
He urged world leaders to be aware of the happenings in the Sahel and stressed the need of comprehending the underlying reasons of the problems the region is facing.
Furthermore, Mr Tinubu encouraged the world to concentrate on reducing poverty, using the region’s resources, and fostering economic possibilities in his capacity as Chairman of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government.

Although, he outlined the measures taken to put Nigeria’s economy back on track, citing difficult but vital choices like cutting fuel subsidies and controlling the country’s currency to combat corruption and advance accountability and openness.
“In removing the subsidy, we ensured that the pain was shared equally across the board, with measures in place to cushion the effect on the most vulnerable populations. We also focused on empowering the youth population through innovation and technology,” President Tinubu explained.
Kristalina Georgieva, the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), complimented President Tinubu for his ideas on carrying out strategic economic changes. She emphasised the significance of reforms that are supported by a human touch and that satisfy the needs of the people.
Paul Kagame, the president of Rwanda, also commended President Tinubu’s focus on inclusive economic growth at the meeting, saying, “Africa’s middle class is growing, making our continent strategic and central to the global community moving forward.”
