The presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) in the 2023 Nigerian general election, Omoyele Sowore has condemned the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for celebrating the jail sentence of the controversial cross dresser, Idris Okuneye, popularly referred to as Bobrisky by the court for mutilating naira.

Sowore, in his official X handle, said the Anti-graft agency can do more by ensuring that former President Muhamadu Buhari, and some of his cabinet members, including the former governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Godwin Emefiele, were jailed for destroying Nigeria’s economy.

The publisher of Sahara Reporter stated further that they are waiting to see how EFCC will prosecute cases of corruption hanging on the neck of high-profile persons in the country since 2007.

“The @officialEFCC is gleefully announcing that Bobrisky has been jailed for six months without an option of a fine for “mutilating” the Nigerian currency, the Naira.

“The real people destroying the economy, like former President @MBuhari, his former Attorney General, Malami, his former personal secretary, Tunde Sabiu, and even the former @cenbank governor, @GodwinIEmefiele are yet to be jailed for the massive economic damage they did to ruin Nigeria.

“The energy put into prosecuting and jailing a crossdresser, Bobrisky, shows his real offence could not have been spraying Naira at a party.

”Let’s see how @official Efcc handles cases involving real financial criminals a long list-some being prosecuted since 2007-who destroy the naira shortly. #RevolutionNow,” he stated

Recall that the controversial crossdresser was sentenced to six months imprisonment by a Federal High Court for abusing naira at a night party in Lagos.
