The Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has given a statement of hope today over the recent kidnap of 10 people while they were returning from school in Emure-Ekiti in Ekiti State yesterday.

The abducted people, who had fallen victims to the rising menace of insecurity in the state, comprised six pupils and three teachers of a private school and their bus driver.
In a report given by Channels TV, the governor stated that the victims would soon be rescued as security operatives are said to be currently carrying out efforts to bring them back.

“The Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji has urged the citizens of the state not to despair over Monday’s kidnapping of some school pupils and their teachers in Emure- Ekiti, assuring that efforts are on to get the children and their teachers rescued,” read the statement given by the Ekiti State Government.
The statement also pointed out the Governor saying addressing the act as “callous and unacceptable.” He then pledged that nothing would be spared as “security is being stepped up across the state with a view to flushing out criminal elements from their hideouts.
“While calling on the citizens to remain calm and vigilant, he urged them to cooperate with security agencies, by making available relevant information to the authorities.”
