The Nigerian film industry has been struck by the untimely demise of one of its prominent figures – Andy Best.
Andy Ikechukwu Nnadi, better known as Andy Best, breathed his last after a valiant battle with a prolonged illness. The news of his passing sent a shock across the entertainment industry, leaving colleagues, fans, and admirers grief-stricken.
According to reports, Andy Best succumbed to his illness on Tuesday, marking the end of an era in Nollywood. The confirmation of his demise came from Mr. Seun Oloketuyi, the convener of the Best of Nollywood (BON) Awards.
In a heartfelt tribute shared on Instagram, Mr. Oloketuyi, lamented the loss of the acclaimed producer and marketer, stating, “Andy Best, a top Nollywood producer and marketer, is dead. He died in an Owerri hospital today.”
Throughout his career, Andy Best left an indelible mark on the Nigerian film industry, carving a niche for himself as a prolific producer. His portfolio boasts an array of cinematic gems, including the critically acclaimed works such as “Lion of Africa,” “White Poison,” and “My Father’s Cup,” among others.

Andy Best’s demise comes in weeks after the demise of two great actors, Mr Ibu and Sisi Quadri.
The president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Emeka Rollas, announced Mr Ibu’s death on his official social media handles, saying:
“Sad Day for Actors Guild of Nigeria. Kate Henshaw lost her mother earlier today, and Mr Ibu suffered cardiac arrest, according to his manager for 24 years, Mr Don Single Nwuzor.
“I announce with a deep sense of grief that Mr Ibu didn’t make it. Make his soul rest in peace.”
Sisi Quadri’s death was announced by the CEO of Fathia entertainment, Olawale who revealed that Sisi Quadri had already been granted a United States visa before his untimely demise at the age of 44.
In what was considered a disappointing and tragic event to the Nigerian film and entertainment industry, the popular Nigerian actor and comedian, Tolani Quadri Oyebamiji, who is also known as Sisi Quadri, was announced to have given up the ghost due to an unrevealed cause.
Expressing his grief on Instagram, Olawale B wrote, “So sad to hear the death of Nollywood actor @iamsisiquadir. US visa was already approved, date fixed already. Who are we to question God?”
