Police trains on tactical combat formation, crowd control, others

The Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has organised three weeks of tactical combat training for security personnel.

The three-week training programme was held at Issac Boro Park, Port Harcourt, the capital city of Rivers State.

The commissioner retrained the state Police personnel on tactical combat formation, crowd control, advance, and splitting drills on Thursday.

In a statement shared on Rivers Police E-News on Facebook, it was stated that the purpose was to refresh and familiarise police officers with advanced techniques used to disperse violent rioters and control crowds.

The Police Commissioner, who addressed the press during the successful conclusion of the training and re-training exercise, emphasised the importance of keeping police personnel up to date with advanced policing techniques.

This he said will go a long way towards helping achieve the goal of achieving professionalism in all officers of the Nigeria Police Force.
