Liverpool smoothly advanced to the Carabao Cup semi-finals, showcasing dominant prowess against West Ham at Anfield.
Dominik Szoboszlai initiated the scoring with a spectacular 25-yard shot into the bottom corner after 28 minutes, leaving no doubt that Liverpool’s spot in the last four was secured.
Curtis Jones netted his second goal 11 minutes into the second half, threading the ball through Alphonse Areola’s legs from the edge of the six-yard box.

With 19 minutes remaining, Cody Gakpo capitalized on ample space to score his eighth goal of the season, followed by Mohamed Salah making it four as he sprinted past the visitors’ defense and finished. Jones then sealed the victory with his second goal, capping off an impressive run.
This marked Liverpool’s first time scoring five goals at home against the Hammers since 1998, setting them on track for a record-extending 10th triumph in the competition.
In the upcoming semi-finals, they will take on Fulham, with the first leg scheduled for the week beginning January 8 and the second leg two weeks later.
