In a somber announcement yesterday, Governor Inuwa Yahaya expressed deep sorrow over the demise of Alhaji Aliyu Usman Haruna, the Caretaker Chairman of Gombe Local Government Council.

At the age of 58, Alhaji Aliyu passed away in an Egyptian hospital where he was undergoing treatment. Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya received the news with profound sadness, describing the loss as monumental not only to the family but also to the entire state and Nigeria.

Governor Inuwa reflected on Alhaji Haruna when he was describing him as a confidant, honest, and loyal associate.
Personally hurt by the nature of this loss, he went on to acknowledge the deceased as a humble, humane, and remarkable politician who served the nation diligently, leaving an indelible mark on many lives.

The Governor extended heartfelt condolences to the immediate family, the people of Gombe local government, and the entire state. He prayed for Almighty Allah to forgive Aliyu Haruna’s shortcomings and reward his good deeds with Aljannat Firdaus.
Alhaji Aliyu Haruna, popularly known as Ali Ashaka, born on 2nd June, 1965, leaves behind two wives and sixteen children. Details regarding the funeral prayer will be communicated in due course.
