The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has announced that phase 1 of the 18.75-kilometre project of the Lekki, Epe Motorway Road will be commissioned on February 1, 2024.
Today, on his X handle, he revealed the mandate of creating a world-class and long-lasting road project to Messrs. Craneburg Construction, which starts from Eleko to Epe T-Junction—ensuring a smoother commute for all, after the commission.
In a relentless pursuit of transforming infrastructure, the governor disclosed that plans are on-going to construct phase two and also described the road project as an effort that will be navigating a challenging stretch from Eleko Junction to Abraham Adesanya.
Sanwo-Olu emphasised that this goes beyond constructing roads but is based on reshaping the landscape of Lagos State for a seamless experience.

The governor said the patience of residents of Sangotedo, Ogidan, Abijo, Rainoil, and all along the Lekki-Epe Motorway is the reason for the progress. He appealed to the residents to bear with them, as the project will be finished in a short time before the commission date.
“We are promising not just roads but a transformative journey towards enhanced connectivity and convenience,” he affirmed.
He also added that more updates will be provided as they look forward to the completion of the road project.
