Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, said his administration will support inclusive governance and collaborative efforts with all religious communities for the continued progress and prosperity of Ondo State.
Aiyedatiwa, today, commended the Muslim community for embracing religious harmony that will promote peace in the state.
Furthermore, in the press statement of the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Ondo State, Prince Adeniyan stated that the recent administration of the Ondo State Governor was made based on political considerations rather than religious affiliations, stressing the unity of the people regardless of faith.
The governor assured that future appointments would take into account the diverse interests of the state’s population.
According to the statement, “For education and religious freedom, the governor affirmed his support for both private and Islamic schools. He reassured the Muslim community of ongoing efforts to address teachers’ shortages and ensure the recruitment of Islamic teachers.”
He sent his heartfelt condolence message to the family of late Arakunrin Akeredolu (SAN), the former governor of the state. The delegation also prayed for strength for the bereaved family and the state.

Highlighting the Muslim Community support for Governor Aiyedatiwa’s leadership, Sheikh Aladesawe emphasised the importance of Muslim inclusiveness in governance. He added by commending some of the governor’s initiatives, including the payment of outstanding workers salaries and pensions.
The Muslim leaders proposed recommendations to the governor, “comprising the resuscitation of the Nigeria Inter-Religious Council (NIREC) for better interaction between religious bodies and the government, fair distribution of social amenities, prompt payment of outstanding gratuities, and a declaration of a state of emergency in teacher recruitment.”
However, he received the Muslim leaders, led by His Eminence Sheikh Ahmad Aladesawe, the Chairman of the League of Imams and Alfas in Ondo State, at the governor’s office in Akure.
