Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has promised comprehensive support for farmers, including access to loans and modern tools.
Governor Aiyedatiwa made the pledge in a meeting with leaders of the Ondo State Farmers’ Congress in Akure.
The governor, who was honoured with the title of Grand Patron of the Congress, emphasised the role of agriculture in the state’s economy and reiterated his administration’s commitment to farmers.
He said: “Agriculture serves as a cornerstone of our economy, and any administration that neglects the farming community risks its own downfall.”
Drawing from his personal experiences, he highlighted the importance of instilling a deep appreciation for agriculture from a young age, emphasizing its collective significance to society.

Governor Aiyedatiwa further pledged to create an enabling environment for farming activities and provide support to farmers, including expanding access to loans.
He added: “By prioritizing the needs of farmers and fostering collaboration between government agencies and agricultural stakeholders, we aim to enhance agricultural productivity and ensure sustainable growth in this vital sector.”
Monilari Abayomi, President of the Ondo State Farmers’ Congress, led the farmers’ delegation in expressing gratitude and commending the governor for his efforts in advancing agriculture and ensuring food security within the state.
Also, they stressed the importance of modern farming technologies, access to market opportunities, and infrastructural development in rural areas.
