Engineers and technicians received training and education on installing Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) kits in vehicles, following the groundbreaking innovation from Fixit45.
The 3-day training, organized by Fixit45, took place at the CNG Training and Fitment Centre in Taharish Automobile Service, Abuja.
Led by esteemed industry experts such as the Cofounder of Fixit45 Nigeria, Pankaj Bohhra, Head-Technician, Shakeelbhai Mansuri, BDM of Fixit45 Nigeria, Philip Oyeleke, and the Director of MIJO AUTO GAS INDIA Pvt Ltd, Gaurav Goyal.
The training encompassed theoretical lectures and hands-on practical sessions. Topics covered included sales of CNG kits, CNG fitment procedures, and mechanic certification.
During the training, emphasis was placed on the safety and affordability of CNG as an alternative fuel.
Pankaj Bohhra highlighted the cost-effectiveness of CNG compared to traditional fuels, emphasising its potential to reduce operating expenses for vehicle owners.
Speaking of the importance of equipping youths with these skills, Engr. Gaurav Goyal stressed the role of vocational training in advancing the automotive industry. He revealed plans to extend programs to thirteen states across Nigeria, including Abuja and Lagos.
In the interview with Golden Page Magazine, organisers and participants, including Juliet Moses, a technician at Auto Gas NG, expressed enthusiasm for the potentials the training carries to address fuel-related challenges in the country.
The Managing Director and CEO of House 27 Autos also shared insights into the benefits of CNG adoption.
While testing the cost-effectiveness of the innovation, a driver from Fixit45 shared his firsthand experience of significant fuel savings, citing a 90% reduction in fuel consumption during a trip from Lagos to Abuja using a CNG-equipped vehicle.
