In a recent interview on BeatFM, Nigerian music icon D’banj revealed that everybody should have a pinch of the controversial singer Portable in them, expressing that he is “a big fan” of the ‘Zazoo Zeh’ hitmaker.

D’banj, who had the interview on Friday, praised Portable for his authentic expression through music, noting that it reminds him of himself earlier on in his career.

The Fall in Love singer, reminisced about his early days, saying, “Portable is doing the way I use to do, if you feel something in the night, you call Don Jazzy, you drop it in the morning.

“Unlike now you wait for one week, you wait for two weeks.”

He further stated that everyone needed to have a pinch of portable in them because he reminded him of taking everything as an opportunity when it comes to you.

However, D’banj noted the significant role of social media in the careers of new artists like Portable.

He said: “What I saw is exactly how I am such a big fan of Portable. I think we are positioned in such a great place that if we identify it early enough, we can actually fulfil what we are meant to be.

“And I see that happening now. You know our own time no social media. So to see the likes of Portable doing some things. And the likes of just the new cats coming up onboard.”
