In the spirit of Easter celebration, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command on Friday deployed over 2,000 security men to safeguard lives and properties across Abuja.
The Police Force Spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, said the Commissioner of Police, Benneth Igweh urged everyone to be security conscious during the celebration hours.
According to him, the security operatives will be seen carrying out their duties, and the deployment of explosive ordinance devices (EOD) experts will be present within the worship centre, including the event centre, to checkmate and maintain peace within various environments.
Other activities to be carried out by the police force include: raids on identified black spots, uncompleted buildings or shanties, stop and search, A vehicular and foot patrol is aimed at ensuring that residents of FCT enjoy a peaceful and serene atmosphere before, during, and after the Easter celebration.

However, the Commissioner of Police appeals to the members of the public to comply with the deployed Nigerian police.

Meanwhile, while residents are watchful of the environment, he encouraged them to report suspected movement to the police.
Adeh also noted that CP Igweh called on Christian faithfuls in FCT, as they join others around the world in the celebration to embrace the virtues of the festivity while reassuring the populace of his commitment to ensure the safety of all and sundry.”
