Comedian Shank Comics has shown dismay after American YouTuber and streamer, Kai Cenat, allegedly received advice from Davido’s team to cancel an outing with him.
The renowned Nigerian content creator broke down in tears, while revealing the shocking news during a live stream. According to Shank, the call from Davido’s team came as a security alert, urging Kai Cenat to abort their planned hangout.
Kai Cenat, a popular American YouTuber, had been in Nigeria for days, enjoying the company of Shank and other notable artists. Together, they had embarked on a series of adventures across Lagos, exploring various landmarks and cultural hotspots.
However, the mood took a somber turn when a visit to a studio, for which Shank had reportedly invested significant resources, was abruptly interrupted by the ominous phone call.
During one of Kai Cenat’s live streams, his associate received a call from Davido’s team, who was accounted to have expressed concerns about the safety of their current location.
Despite Shank’s assurances regarding the safety of the site, the caller from Davido’s camp allegedly conveyed dissatisfaction with the trip thus far, citing their visit to Makoko, a well-known Lagos slum, as a point of contention.
Shank, visibly agitated by the unexpected interference, passionately defended the integrity of their excursion, highlighting the effort and resources invested in its planning. He also voiced concerns over the guests who were eagerly awaiting their arrival at the studio.
Kai Cenat, however, offered to reimburse Shank for any expenses incurred.
Shank’s emotions reached a breaking point, leading him to abruptly exit the scene, leaving Kai Cenat and his team behind.

Social media commentator, Daniel Regha, has offered his perspective on the issue, saying that Shank’s should understand that Davido’s concern is Cenat’s safety and security.
“Kai Cenat’s security comes first, Shank of all people should understand that. If Davido’s convoy says the location isn’t safe, that’s more than enough reason to make a u-turn without questions & cancel whatever plans have been made.
“Everyone is trying to defend Shank but if something unfortunate happens, Davido will be blamed (like always). A convoy already attracts unnecessary attention, & u can’t guarantee anyone’s 100% safety in Nigeria right now.
It’s becoming more clear that this is about shooting content for cl¤ut & not just helping a school, otherwise this shouldn’t be a problem,” Regha wrote.
