Akinwale Adeniran, the Ekiti State Commissioner of Police, has ordered a thorough investigation into the deaths of two residents accidentally killed by a police officer in Ado-Ekiti.
The incident, which took place late yesterday along the Omisanjana area, was reported on the command’s social media channel.
Police officers and the State Traffic Section were deployed to the scene of a fatal accident involving a Lexus car and a Jincheng motorcycle to maintain safety and security. On their arrival, they encountered resistance from an angry mob demanding jungle justice.

During efforts to restore order, one police officer, whose name has been withheld, allegedly shot into the crowd, resulting in the deaths of two people.
The officer has since been arrested and detained at a police facility and will face a disciplinary panel immediately.
CP Adeniran expressed sympathy for the bereaved families and assured them that justice would be served once the investigation is concluded.
