In a recent interview with Saturday Beats, Nigerian singer Solid Star, born Joshua Iniyezo, shared insights into his battle with addiction and his journey towards recovery.
The revelations came after videos surfaced online, depicting the artist in distress, allegedly due to substance abuse.
The footage, shared by Solid Star’s brother Joseph, portrayed the singer appearing disheveled and wandering aimlessly on the streets. Amidst concerns raised about his well-being, Solid Star refuted claims of ongoing addiction, asserting his commitment to a healthier lifestyle.
Solid Star affirmed, “I am very well and healthy now. I no longer smoke nor take alcohol. I keep everything plain now.
“I am doing very fine; working to make the world dance again with the good vibe I always bring,” Solid Star stated.
“I have been working tirelessly to ensure I present quality music, like I always do.”
Reflecting on the lessons learned from his ordeal, Solid Star emphasized the importance of communication and avoiding isolation.
“I have learned not to always be by myself because communication is very important,” he stated. “I have learned to love and be positive.”
Acknowledging the support he received from friends, colleagues, fans, and family during his challenging times, Solid Star expressed gratitude for their assistance.
“Their support made my stay at the hospital comforting, and I appreciate all of them for their support,” he remarked.
