The leadership of All Progressives Congress (APC) has warned supporters of the immediate past Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, to desist from creating problems in the party.

The party leaders added that there waa no vacancy in the position of the national chairmanship of the party.

APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka stated this in Abuja at a press conference held at the national secretariat of the party.

Online platforms and social media portals have been inundated with rumours of Bello’s interest in the leadership position of the party, barely 48 hours after handing over to Governor Usman Ododo.

The former governor’s supporters in his home state of Kogi State had already started calling him ‘National Assignment’ immediately after he handed over to his predecessor on Saturday in Lokoja.

The posters of the former governor had flooded the streets of Abuja, including the national secretariat of the ruling party on Monday.

“Chairman. Dr Abdullahi Ganduje remains remains our chairman. This is a democracy where people do what they want.

“We have total confidence in the leadership of the party. But, make no mistake because the office of the national chairman is properly and fully occupied. Nobody is asking for that office to be declared vacant and it is not vacant. I will want to warn those who are throwing these papers around to desist from doing that.

“That is not our priority right now. We need to concentrate on the job that needs to be done to solve some of the problems that will make our country a better place for all of us.”
