The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has announced a major victory in the fight against insurgency with precision airstrikes targeting ISWAP terrorists within Kolleram village along the shores of Lake Chad.
The operation, conducted as part of Operation Hadarin Kai (OPHK), resulted in the elimination of over 30 terrorists, including several key commanders.
In a statement released by AVM Edward Gabkwet, the Director of Public Relations and Information for the Nigerian Air Force, it was revealed that the airstrikes, executed on April 13, dealt a decisive blow to terrorism in the North-East region of Nigeria.
The battle damage assessment conducted after the strikes confirmed the neutralization of significant terrorist figures, including Ali Dawud, Bakura Fallujah, and Mallam Ari, among others.
The airstrikes not only targeted militants but also destroyed a considerable amount of their logistical assets, including vehicles, motorcycles, and infrastructure crucial for their operations. Additionally, a key facility within the Kolleram enclave, serving as a hub for the terrorists’ food processing activities, was effectively obliterated.
According to intelligence gathered post-strike, the operation severely hampered the operational capabilities of ISWAP in the region. The success of these airstrikes underscores the NAF’s unwavering commitment to eradicating terrorism and ensuring the safety and security of Nigerian citizens.
