Gov. Eno Commissions Health Centre, 2 Schools in Akwa Ibom

In marking his one-year anniversary in office, the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, commissioned a model primary health centre and two model primary schools within the state on Friday.

With adequate quality facilities, the Governor’s Special Assistance on News and Digital Media, Richard Okon, described on his X page that the structure will serve as the benchmark standard of quality for all government schools in the coming years.

He mentioned that the two commissioned schools are CKS Primary School and Ewet Primary School.

He further stated that the school “facility consists of standard classrooms with state-of-the-art facilities, a standard-size football field, a school auditorium, an infirmary, sports equipment, ICT gadgets, and other facilities.”

In another location, the governor proceeded to unveil the Model Primary Health Centre in Ikot Nkwo, Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Area of the state.

According to Okon, the health facility was built to align with the World Health Organisation (WHO) standard, and he added that the health centre was among the 15 currently built hospitals this year.

Describing the building, he said it has several departments, ranging from the maternity section, the immunisation section, the nutrition section, and the and the delivery room, both male and female wards.

It transcended to other units, and they include an antenatal clinic, doctors’ consulting rooms, a minor procedure room, an emergency unit, accommodation for doctors, nurses, and community health extension workers, and space for food demonstrations.
